A little about our cafe…

After seven years running a successful cafe in Sydney, we made Kiama our home and set up Pennys in 2015. Both of us come from creative backgrounds (Pete in photography, Cheree in textile design) and we wanted to create a unique place that combined our passions of coffee, food and music. (In particular, Pete jumped at the chance to spin vinyl all day!)

At Pennys, our aim is to provide a memorable experience for every guest who spends time with us – whether it’s a quick sunrise coffee, lively brunch with friends or special celebration dinner. We like to think of our cafe as an art installation – with every part of it adding to your enjoyment. From the music played to the sumptuous food and drink on offer, choice of decor and coastal location. Good company, good food and good times, always with a smile!

This painting, “Penny Whistlers” by Vladmir Tretchkoff, hangs in our cafe – representing our love of music and art. We liked the way the words flowed together!

Proud to be a local Kiama cafe

As gateway to the stunning New South Wales South Coast, Kiama offers a ridiculously idyllic lifestyle filled with beaches, blowholes and big breakfasts! Penny Whistlers cafe is located in the heart of Kiama township – offering our guests front row seats to the picturesque harbour and world-famous Blowhole Point.

The Kiama region itself has a fascinating heritage that spans everything from dairy farming to basalt quarrying and of course, tourism. We feel proud to represent this beautiful area and love bringing our coastal cafe experience to locals and visitors all year round. We look forward to seeing you soon!
